Day 10: Grow
Good to Know:
By now you know God is faithfully doing a work in you. Why? Because He loves you. Following Jesus isn’t always easy. But look at the fruit He produces when we commit to doing the work.
Colossians 2:6-10 NLT
Freedom From Rules And New Life in Christ
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
John 15:1-11 NLT
Jesus, the True Vine
“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!
Philippians 1:9-11 NLT
I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.

What’s the next step I need to take as Christ’s disciple?
Want to Keep the Bible a Part of Your Everyday Life?
We compiled some of our favorite resources, filled with trusted and easy ways to help you continue a habit of reading and understanding the Bible.
Reading, “Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit,” seems it could be a tall-order, especially for those of us without religious degrees, or who lack the charisma of pastoral teams; yet, revealing a pathway to Christ for all, William Barclay more-or-less has said, “He who knows Christ best is neither the intellectual nor the one found deep in prayer, but he who generously attends to those he meets.” What an amazing thought! To move in the ways of Christ, and have Him move in me, what must I do? Digest doctrine? Preach from pulpits?… Read more »
God Bless you and your family
The cool part, is that Jesus didn’t call men and women with degrees, but He called us to take the gospel to the world. Where does the world start? Right outside your front door!
While I realize we need to be bring souls to the kingdom. When I read that I must bear much fruit, I think of the fruit of the spirit. Love, patients, self control, joy, kindness
It’s amazing how much love we can share on the internet….we don’t have to be professionals, we don’t have to have all the right words, we don’t even have to know the people we are sharing with!!! We just have to know Jesus and have the Holy Spirit within us and amazing things can happen. Be open to using the tools at hand (literally with electronic devices) and following the promptings of God within…He can and will do great things!!!
Being used in God’s great work! We can always begin – every day – because of Who is leading us and Who will use each & every person who is devoted. Thanks for the great reminder to be diligent, Heidi!
With me not being able to drive because I’m handicapped and have no car to get around and having to get my license back, how is another way I can go and reach others. But I do read the word with my fiance & pray when we can, but we need to do better about it, I also need a accountability partner can you help me who sings I need a help with and that pray for me, other than that I loved is this right here and if you need it can’t hear it. God bless us everyone and… Read more »
Morning Daniel you can invite people over do a pot luck dinner or just have people come over.Do a fellowship night once or twice out the month.
That is an awesome idea and it builds relationships..
You are on social media! What a platform to reach the lost. You can also give into trusted ministries to take the gospel around the world. Where we can’t go, our finances can. Looking for someone to be accountable to is awesome. Do you have a church home? If not, because you can’t get out, there are Pastors on WayFM that can talk to you and help you.
Daniel Chambers on your phone or computer you can download the Bible app. It has wonderful lessons you can do alone, with your fiance, or as a hone group at your home. Have ppl over and serve light snacks and/or have your guest bring refreshments or serve a meal and then have a Bible study altogether. There is a wide range of topics to choose from. For studying. I do these myself. Good luck and God bless!
I will pray for you, Daniel. I too have needed to improve in my prayer life and in reading my Bible. I have asked God to help me and He has truly been at work. I’m reading my Bible almost daily and my prayer life has truly increased. The Holy Spirit is present. He is using you also. When people see us in our suffering and yet still have our faith in God it is a powerful message. May the Lord bless you and help you in many ways.
I’m going to pray that God brings people to you, Daniel. He did that for the Apostle Paul. Even in prison, God brought needy people to the Apostle … like the Philippian jailor in Acts 16 and Onesimus in Philemon. You are an encouragement to all of us Daniel, to be a willing servant of the Lord. Those are the people God always uses!
Just trust even when it’s hard
To grow and thrive we must remain in him! Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. I so Love this scripture!❤
We must grow in the lord forever.
IF I remain in Christ, I will bear much fruit, and I may ask for anything I want. This does not mean that I should be greedy or carnal in my asking. The word also says, you have not, James 4:2 “You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” So, what do I ask of God? This is my personal list of what I ask of God. Wisdom, patience ( a hard one), forgiveness, to see people come to salvation, to… Read more »
Thank you for teaching us all, Michelle, to grow, grow, grow. I’m sure our Lord is using you to encourage many. Thanks for your important part on this comment page. See you in the next study!
I really enjoy the daily bible readings . I really like the comment section it is very helpful . Why does it have to stop at day 10 , and where do we go from here ?
Praying that the Lord will lead you to further passages in the Bible that will lift your spirit and help bring you closer to Him!
There are series I saw that are worth studying. You must go to the small group and it list several different topics.
Once we have Christ in our hearts and go astray it is abundantly clear that I was missing a important part of my survival spiritually. I can’t live in this evil world without Him!
So true, Kurt. We would all be sunk! Without hope [Ephesians 2]! I rejoice with you in the victory we have through the Lord Jesus Christ.
The thought for the day… remain in Me (Jesus)!
God Bless you and your Family
This has been such an encouragement. Thank you so much. You make studying God’s word fun!
Amen, and God Bless
I totally forgot to say, God Bless you and your family
This has been good for me too … and I wrote it! Thanks for taking the journey with me and us all, Lorraine. This is the encouragement and support our Lord wants us to give to one another. Just like the disciples.
I wish this continued
Me too,
I hope to remain in God and grow everyday.
Dear God, please help me stay inside of you so that I may be fruitful. Guide me to do what is right and help me be the best that I can be for you. Amen!
And He loves you close, Tanya! I pray you are still growing and enjoying every minute of His Presence.
Good ending.
Father God, please help me to obey your commandments so that I can remain in your love.
Trust in God. He loves us.
Short, simple, true, amazing!
How do you convey to someone who loves God dearly and has always loved others through him. Now diagnosed with Cancer metastatic ,(rapid progression) who I have never seen at the bottom to not let go??? She still has life, and great team of physicians!
I’m sorry for this hardship. I am glad you are praying for this friend and are being that spiritual companion. A person in this depth of faith usually ministers to us more than we to them. But God knows how to take every good thing you do and minister to your friend’s need at just the right time.
Is there only 10 days because that’s all I get when I go to daily readings?
I have that exact question Melanie !
It’s good to know that God’s love is always there for us!
I believe so. I’m reading that we should check out the small group study.
Remain in the word and keep lines of communication open with God. This is the only way to know what is truth when the world is telling us misleading information.
It is amazing how just living for the Lord impacts others. Kindness and love go along way even if you don’t know what to say. Your life can model Jesus others will notice the difference.
I do feel a little withered. I know though it’s me and not him. He waits for me patiently to return. I must remain more in him
Absolutely!!
Bruh
Great
Love these scriptures. Amen
